MADISON, Wis. (WSAW) — A state representative from Madison has announced she’ll introduce legislation Thursday regarding the topic of legalizing marijuana in the state of Wisconsin.
Melissa Sargent is a Representative in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 48th Assembly District, which covers the east and north sides of the city of Madison and the village of Maple Bluff.
In April, Gov. Scott Walker signed into law a bill that legalizes possession of a marijuana extract used to treat seizures. The oil does not produce a high.
Sargent’s media advisory provided no additional details about the intent of the legislation.
A press conference is scheduled to take place July 13 at 10 a.m.
